The outreach event opened with an appreciation of those present, followed by the introduction of the mission and vision of GIBH and call to join its efforts. Dr. Biruh Workeneh then gave a short talk about the necessity of involvement in medical missions in general and his efforts through GIBH in particular, urging the community to get involved. This was followed by Ebenezer Abate’s comments on his decision to volunteer with GIBH and experience thus far, encouraging young members of the community to get involved. Daniel Getachew, president of GIBH, followed with a presentation detailing the mission, vision, and progress of GIBH thus far. He particularly focused on planned first projects at Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This was followed by a short documentary on the Hospital, which solely serves pregnant mothers and newborns. There was time afterward to meet with individual attendees and network.
